TEACHING AND LEARNING
Our vision at Hilderthorpe Primary School is to provide opportunities for children to develop as independent, confident, successful learners with high aspirations who know how to make a positive contribution to their community and wider society. There is a high focus on developing moral, spiritual, social and cultural understanding. Mental health and well-being is at the heart of our curriculum with the theme of “Nurture” being threaded through our curriculum.
Values for success:
Resilience, Perseverance, Respect and Kindness
Our Nurture Curriculum:
At Hilderthorpe Primary School, we are part of the Nurturing Schools Programme from ‘The Nurture Group Network’.
We expect all stakeholders and visitors in the school to model these principles to each other. These principles are threaded through all aspects of our school life including policies and the curriculum.
You can read more about our Nurture Curriculum, including viewing our most recept inspection report here.
Learning at Hilderthorpe:
Using the national curriculum as our base to offer breadth of learning, the curriculum at Hilderthorpe is tailored to provide children with knowledge and skills which are progressive over the year and through the years, allowing all children to embed their learning and demonstrate what they know and remember.
